For a while now, Binary Evasion has had a League of Legend Caster, as already discussed in these news here. Now, we are proud to announce that we have found our very own Starcraft 2 commentator in none other than David `Icicle` Rynearson. From now on, he will cover the tournament games of the player of our Starcraft 2 team and also stream some cups for BEVTV from where he is living right now: Edinburgh, Scotland.



David `Icicle` Rynearson first came in touch with e-sports when Warcraft 3 was at its peak as an e-sports game. He very much enjoyed his time he spend watching broadcasted events - sometimes a bit too much, since there was a Bachelor degree that needed his attention as well. But who doesn’t have this sort of experience at least once?

„I fondly remember sitting in some of my computer classes while studying for my Bachelor, hooked up to the university WiFi and streaming recorded matches from Korea.“

The hours spent watching great players collide like Grubby and Moon in tournaments had slowly lit up the idea and the desire of being a broadcaster himself. He first set his foot into this profession back when UK Esports had provided him the necessary knowledge about programs and tools required for broadcasting. He shortly thereafter became the official broadcaster of Gosugamers.

In his past, he has been broadcasting on a regular basis for the ESL, for Gamecreds, Gosugamers and HMV Gamerbase. After parting ways with Gosugamers due to time restrictions and after a period of time where his „productivity plummeted“ thanks to a certain other game (you may start speculating), he began casting again, covering the Go4SC2 cup twice a week ever since then.
It was then when he was, as David said, „picked up by the pro-gaming team who accepted him based on banking career and love of chocolate: Binary Evasion.“

He is a fan of setting goals in his commentator and broadcaster career: His first e-sports goal was hitting 1,000 concurrent viewers. Accomplished in April 2011. His second goal was to broadcast a game of Grubby, the former Orc Chieftain, now Protoss High Templar. He has reached this goal as well.
Davids newest, and probably most ambitious goal so far, is very interesting: „My new goal is to become a guest commentator for the GSL.“ Ambitious indeed! We from Binary Evasion will support him as best as we can, so that he can get closer to realizing this dream of his.


As the concluding words of this news, David will be casting the ESL Country Championship in Cologne as well as the WCS Russian Finals this Saturday. So this week already, you will have the opportunity to see how he looks like - or at least hear what his voice sounds like.
